I met Jill at Chateau de Bossey last August and enjoyed her company during workshops and meal times. The pleasure of being with people over a longer period is that you can get to know them more and I wanted to share with you Jill's enthusiasm and experiences on the spiritual path.
Ask Your Angels
Let me make an admission here. I adore angels and have worked with them for several years and although many people probably think that’s weird I really don’t mind. It isn’t dangerous but it may very well be contagious! Perhaps it all started when I was just five years old and cast as an angel in the school’s nativity play. Having crossed a freezing cold playground in the depths of winter without our coats, I contracted pneumonia and almost died from it. Fortunately it didn’t blunt my enthusiasm.
Here’s an example of how they work in my life. Opening my mail box one Saturday morning I came across a demand for two years’ pension and social security payments as freelancers pay them annually and the authorities had got behind. I was really upset as there was little work around at that time, so having read that the angels love being asked to do things for us and, as they are unable to intervene in our lives unless we ask, I did just that. I asked an angel of work to find me something immediately, and put it out in no uncertain terms. Less than half an hour later the phone rang with an offer of two weeks’ employment in an organisation for which I had worked in the past and all this on a Saturday morning! Then three days later another official-looking letter appeared in the mail box, this time from the tax authorities … with a fairly decent rebate.
I paid my bills the same week and drew some money out of the bank to spend on myself. I had only been home a couple of hours when a close friend called. He had been chatting about me to one of his colleagues and he discovered that the company where the colleague’s wife worked was looking for just the sort of assistance I could provide. Divine timing? Yes of course. Synchronicity? Yes, that as well. But it is also true that my work angels had been busy on my behalf once again.
That really got the ball rolling and I spent the rest of the year fully occupied with a variety of tasks for clients. Well I’ve never minded working at weekends!
This is the second time I’ve absolutely demanded the angels to help me find a job, the other being a few years earlier when I received a communication informing me that I had underpaid my income tax and I owed, for me, a fairly large sum (these pesky bills that nobody enjoys receiving). The same day I was offered a very interesting and lucrative editing contract that was around seven times the amount I had to shell out. It really, really pays to ask, remembering to thank the angels afterwards. Team work is much more effective than blundering around on our own and the angels just love being picked for our personal team.
