For me it's the day I'm marking by honouring the first appearance of material that I believe Spirit is bringing into the world through me.
It's always tempting to think that 'we' do it and of course we play our part but as any healer knows, 'we' are simply willing channels for the energy to work through us for the benefit of others.
Better that we just get out of the way - at least with our logical impatient minds.
This course, Creating the Everyday Sacred through Your 6 Senses has come together beautifully over the past few months which is less my cleverness at creating it but more my willingness to listen to inner guidance.f.
I love this quote from writer David Whyte:
'Courage is the ability to cultivate a relationship with the unknown: to create a form of friendship with what lies around the corner over the horizon - with those things that have not fully come into being.'
The best kind of friendships are those where there is a willingness on both parts to listen and be open to the unexpected from the other. That's what I think of with David Whyte's words. We can have the best kind of friendship with our inner sense - after all it's the one friend that won't lie to us,Ever. We may not always understand immediately what it offers but being prepared to listen brings unexpected and wonderful surprises.
The unexpected often bothers us as we write and plan and set our logical goals. Being open is essential if we're going to allow in that wider and deeper vision that Spirit has for us.
Summer Solstice is about not only using the sun's energies and rays to expand, it's about not being afraid of being scorched by the power inside of us.
If we trust that Spirit will guide us only ever for the development of the highest and best in us, than we may have to hold our nose and dive in. But the deeper we dive into our inner power, the more likely we are have the impact on the world that we secretly crave.
